Bosnia and Herzegovina, primarily due to its geographical position, has a tremendous ability to use energy from the sun which is reflected in the fact that the potential of solar energy is five times greater than the total primary energy consumption. The country has so far failed to establish a mechanism that would result in increased use of solar energy. Taking into account energy, environmental, economic and ethical aspects of the solar energy use on one hand and virtually unlimited natural resources on the other, an idea of cross-border cooperation was developed for analysis of the possibility of solar energy use in the Municipality of Bijeljina (BiH) and Municipality of Bogatić (Serbia), which is the primary goal of this project.
