ENOVA actively participated in two days of knowledge exchange and collaboration in Dubrovnik from 8 to 10 October during the 20th SDEWES Conference, contributing to discussions on how to make port operations more sustainable, smart, and energy-efficient within the AIMPRESS Project framework, and was one of only three organizations from Bosnia and Herzegovina among more than 600 participants from around the world.
During the session “Innovative Pathways to Nearly Zero-Energy Ports: Advancing Sustainability and Smart Mobility in Maritime Systems”, chaired by Dr. Nikolaos Sifakis and co-chaired by Prof. George Arampatzis (TUC), ENOVA participated and co-authored the study “Designing a Modular Cold-Ironing Framework for Nearly Zero-Emission Port Operations in the Adriatic-Ionian Region”, in collaboration with the Technical University of Crete (TUC). The session highlighted innovative pathways for port decarbonization, with a focus on digitalization, renewable energy integration, and life cycle-based environmental assessment.
The AIMPRESS Project brings together AI-driven energy management systems, renewable energy sources, cold ironing, and digital twin technologies to support the transition toward cleaner, smarter, and more resilient ports across the Adriatic-Ionian region.
